A Mobile Friendly Blog for Readers
With mobile gadgets gaining widespread popularity as well as our hectic lifestyles, more individuals are using their iPhone, Samsung Tablets, Blackberry, or Android mobile devices to surf the Internet, it makes sense to have our blog looking user-friendly and clean, allowing the download of pictures and texts fast. A slow loading blog is going to to turn off visitors, and they may just hop over to another website, and I’m sure that’s the last thing you want.
If you are on WordPress, you should download the WordPress plugin WPtouch. The number of downloads to-date is close to 3 million, and that speaks volume of it’s usefulness. Making a blog mobile friendly today is a BIG thing since even search engines use this factor when ranking your website or blog. I have also written reviews on some of the best WordPress plugins that can make a WP blog mobile friendly, so if are keen to explore further, check it out here.
But note that there isn’t any sidebar (i.e. no widgets loaded). So if you really need the visitor to see the widget, you’ll have to consider it’s suitability. Alternatively, use a plugin that gives the user or you the option to choose the default website view, or the mobile-friendly view.
WPtouch is supported on a wide range of devices including: iPhone, iPod touch, Android mobile devices, Palm Pre/Pixi and BlackBerry OS6 mobile devices. You can check it out here.
